We had our first homeschool Co-op Classes today which the kids enjoyed very much...it is a great time for us to be with other homeschool friends and their families...and to top the weekend off my oldest son is going camping with all the church guys...soooooo a bunch of us ladies are heading out for dinner tonite.....woohoo!!!! Life is GOOD!!!!

We went out this evening to catch some deals and BOY did we....I only paid $13.00 out of pocket total of all of this including tax...lots of .01 items and .50 items along with 300 FREE labels at Staples (reg. 9.99) and to top it all off the HUGE storage bins were on clearance for $1.50 each (reg. 14.99) I would say we got a GREAT DEAL...what a blessing!!!

We have started back our first day of homeschooling for the year....it is going great!!!! I Riley is going into 2nd grade, Mallory is in 6th grade and Bailey is in 8th grade!!!! I am so very blessed to have always been able to homeschool and I count it pure JOY....

August Beach Trip

What a wonderful trip we had this past weekend with some friends in Seaside, Florida...the kids had a blast with their boogie boards in the ocean and lots of fun making sand castles and yummy burgers and chicken on the grill...then we took some great BIKE rides through the town of Watercolor, Seaside and Seagrove....and finished it all up with great homemeade ice-cream sundaes!!!! My camera went on the fritz so we did not get many pics :( ...but all in all this was the best beach trip we have taken in a LONG LONG time!!!

Atlanta Getaway..

We had a nice little getaway this past weekend...we headed over to Stone Moutain Georgia for some R & R...we also enjoyed the World of Coke but skipped the Aquarium ( the kids wanted to swim instead) lol...Riley taught himself how to swim under water for the first time and from that point on he was like a FISH for sure...the kids loved getting away and after all the "schoolwork" I did last week I sooooo loved the time as well. Enjoy!!!

Lots going on this past week...after Riley's sugery the older two had dentist appointments which went very well...then I kept my "adopted" 3 other children so their parents could have a date night and BOY OH BOY did we have fun...then Mallory had her debut cutting grass and she did GREAT (which I know brother was "thrilled" to officially have a helper on this task?) lololol

Riley's Surgery

What a day....last week we found out on a routine dentist cleaning appointment that Riley had some teeth that needed pulled....So to make it easier on Riley??? (mind you it was NOT easy) they set him up for surgery at Childrens Hospital yesterday......and needless to say it was a very hard day! I think we all did ok UNTIL they got ready to take him back and as he crossed from me to the hand of the nurse to take him back for "anesthesia" he let out a BLOOD curdling SCREAM..."MAMA" and tried to bolt and run for me.....lets just say I "LOST IT" right after that....since I knew what was next and that was for them to TRY and get a mask over his mouth to put him to sleep...and that is exactly why they dont let you come back with them because not telling what they had to do to get that mask on him...so when it is all over and he comes back to his room with us and he awakens enough to tell me he is hurting still and the nurse comes to give him some pain meds...welllllllll he must have remembered her HOLDING him down and he went POSTAL...it took 3 of us holding him and trying to get LORITAB in his mouth and he spits it everywhere...very bitter stuff...but the story ends with his Aunt MIMI and I getting him home and fast asleep and I headed off to take a 2-part exam (who knows how that went??? lol) and all is well today......THANK YOU, JESUS!!!

Homemade Laundry Soap...

Oh what fun we had making homemade laundry soap for homeschool project day...the kids loved helping with this project and we had much success...we made 5 gallons each that turn into 10 gallons when transferred to from storage bucket to dispenser...so we paid about 6.00 each for 6 months worth of laundry soap...You do the math on that one!!!!

What a fun last couple of weeks we've had...basketball awards for my nephew...Bailey turned the BIG 13...then we did some painting and finally we went to the MCWANE Science Center for some kewl dissections...YES that is a HUMAN BRAIN but just a COW EYE...and the kids loved it...well except for my daughter (hummm may have some future surgens in the house???) fun, fun, fun!!!!! Oh and Riley rode the suspended bike for the first time...GO RILEY...and he loves loves his new "suit"...he says he cannot wait to wear it to church...what a big guy he is becoming....

Ahhhh the blessing of having a beautiful daughter...Miss Mallory Rose has turned the big 11 today and how a mothers heart flows with emotion at all she has become...we did a pre-celebration today with cake and gifts from her brothers and I and then went to a late lunch with friends...and her Paris Paint Party is scheduled in the next two weeks with pictures to follow...

What a fun few days we have had with "Chef Bellanger" and the Snow Gang...I am not sure who has more fun the kids or the adults??? But nevertheless it has been GREAT!!!!! We have all been snowed in for the last 48 hours and have had so much fun playing games, playing in the snow and cooking some GREAT food...ahhh times like this will have such lasting memories!!! ;)

What a wonderful Christmas we had..the blessings were innumerable...we still stick to our "3 gifts on Christmas Day (just like the wisemen brought the day Jesus was born) and we have a Birthday Party for Jesus (which we had at our friends house this year) and then the kids still enjoy giving and getting from family and other friends...and most of all we LOVED LOVED the snow....first time on Christmas Day I think in my lifetime!!!!!

A New Journey....

I used to think I was not sure 'how' I got to this place in life and "where" I was going from here...but that has all changed in the last few years. I usually do not post much writing on my blog but am thinking more about SHARING the new journey I have found myself on in hopes to inspire others in various ways. The story itself is quite LOOOONG and I am sure bits and pieces of it will come out as I write, so it will be your job to figure that all out as we go and feel free to comment along the way!

First of all I "owe" everything that I have and have become to JESUS...that is a fact not a statement!!!! I am very thankful and appreciate all that is around me. For every valley and every trench I have found myself in or going through there has been much wisdom and for that alone I have gain.

There has been many of circumstance that has led to my present journey so I will sum up in short where I am today....

I am currently still homeschooling my 3 children and loving every moment of that and I have recently myself started college again to pursue my dream of becoming an RN to better the lives of my children and myself. I am about to transfer to a 4 year college nearby to continue working on my bachelors degree and am very excited to know that I am getting step by step closer to the reality of that dream. (updates to this journey and many others is my planned writing)

My children are on journeys as well. My older two children are becoming pre-teens and this is both a challenging and rewarding time in their lives. We are about to embark on a whole new world of music as they are going to learn to play thier first instruments (percussion and viola)...and we are thrilled at the prospect of what this will become. My youngest is learning many new and exciting feats and keeps us all laughing with his vivacious personality. I am both thankful and elated to be their mom. :)

Be ecouraged that this is but a season of life no matter where you find yourself...enjoy!!!

We had one of the sweetest blessings from our Youth Group tonite...they came to our house caroling and brought presents and food galore...my children and I were overwhelmed by the blesssing....what awesome young people we have in our church and what an asset to the kingdom of God they are...it was truely beautiful!!!! We are so very thankful to have been so blessed!

This month has been great celebrating Birthdays...Riley is now the BIG "6" and well lets just say I am a YEAR older...but oh what fun we had..my sweet sister and children gave me a great gift basket with all my favorite goodies and a sunflower cake...my co-workers spoiled me with great food and Edgars Cupcakes and an hour Massage from Massage Envy...then my sweet friends took me OUT for a great night of food and fun...and showered me with more gifts and we had a HUGE bonfire for Riley and took him shopping for some prizes...and we are alllllllll partied out! lol God is good and we are thankful!

Is all I can say...I have had numerous tests in college thus far and have done very well but the one thing I was dreading most was "writing" after 20+ years of NOT having too but as I sat down to do my first essay on (self-concept) it took alot of thinking but then as I began to write the words flew through my fingers which only goes to show that PRAYER does us justice EVERYTIME! "Tweens" gotta love em...We started our new Bible Study this morning and it will last 365 days..The kids did an awesome job reading the devotions and opening the Word of God to explore yet more scriptures dealing with their lives today...It was such a rewarding time and it is all about TWEENS which is right up their alley! I am so excited to see where God is taking us on this new journey into young teenage survivors!!! You may think Riley is just coloring and writing numbers but when it was his turn to speak he asked...Mom? Can you hide under the covers and still talk to God? lolololol Needless to say we were about to roll in the floor but kept our composure and I answered...Riley, YOU can talk to God whenever and wherever you want and HE WILL LISTEN! AMEN!

OHHHH what fun we had at the Christmas Banquet this year...Everyone did a wonderful job on their Mime's and the children did a great job on thier play about the Christmas Shoes....We also took a big group of children to my former workplace to visit and sing for the elderly residents there and THEY LOVED IT...what a blessing that was..then back to the church for a fun filled childrens dinner and lots of goodies (Thank you Sister Bonnie) ...I feel so very blessed to be a part of God's kingdom and all the awesome things He is doing with His people! Mallory's best friend Keanna had a birthday this month and we all went skating...what fun we had...Riley took his time getting out there but WHEN he did he was a natural...we always enjoy getting together with our good friends The Hayes!

What a great time we had this weekend with some great friends PAINTING for the first time! Most of us had never painted but it all turned out quite well in the end...We cannot wait to do another one...we plan to make this a bi-monthly event! HOW FUN! Thanks Amber and to everyone who came!!!

What a great birthday...I cannot believe Riley is now "5" years old!!! He is the greatest little guy and he was given to us just when life tried to take us down...I love the way God always knows what we need and JUST when we need it the most! I thank God for my children they bless me everyday!!!!

What a wonderful day at the Symphony and the McWane Center for a Homeschool fieldtrip day! The kids had a blast and so did we!!!!

We had a really great time with some friends today at Aldridge Gardens funny scarecrows decorated by local business fans....it was beautiful outside and then we took the kids to Homewood Park to ride scooters and play!!! God is good!!!

Riley was all about telling me what Jesus 'created' for us....I had to video this and listen to how cute he says "created"...it amazes me how much little ones learn from hearing the word of GOD! AMEN!

We had a great time this past week getting Art Class started back up for the year! We added 3 new friends to class and they were putting together thier easels for the first time! We took to get ice cream and Jackie and I went to Starbucks soooooooo I would say everyone was 'happy'!!!

What a great afternoon...Sister Bonnie and I took "6 kids" to the Alys Stephens Center for and Arts day full of music, singing and drums...The kids loved it and of course I loved taking pictures...All the girls liked the drums and Brooke did a singing gig, Haley played air guitar, Mallory sang in the train, and they all played in the drum circle...The best part was Sister Bonnie playing a drum solo thanks to her lovely great neice volunteering her...LOL

School at the Library!

What a great school day we had earlier this week at the library...The kids seemed tired at first but within no time they we having a blast..we had a scavenger hunt for books, had a puppet show, played board games and did lots of workbooks before wrapping things up for lunch and scooter riding! Thank you Lord for all the time you give me with my children!
